About Louise

For the last 15 years Louise has been working as a hypnotherapist and counsellor in her private practice and has two office locations, one in Kitsilano and one in Metrotown. Originally from Scotland she graduated with a BA degree and a Teaching Certificate and upon emigrating to Canada taught sciences at the secondary level for several years. After marriage Louise stopped working for a while in order to take care of the couple’s four children and during that time she became interested in hypnotherapy and counselling. As a result Louise trained with the BC Association of Clinical Hypnotherapists, obtained her Masters in Counselling Psychology at UBC and became a Master Clinical Hypnotherapist at the Pacific Institute of Advanced Hypnotherapy. The latter is the only school in Canada which offers a hypnosis training course in the family medicine program at Alberta University that is accredited as a recognized elective. Since then she has trained with some of the best teachers in the world including Roy Hunter, Cal Banyon, Dr. Brian Weiss, Dr. Bruce Eimer, Dr. Yapko and Dr. Karen Olness and she continues to attend workshops and lectures whenever possible. Hypnotherapy also helped her on a personal level to become comfortable presenting in front of large audiences . Louise is an associate member of the International Medical and Dental Association of Hypnotherapists, The Pacific Institute of Advanced Hypnotherapy, and the BC Association of Registered Clinical Counsellors. Louise’s UBC training specialised in family counselling so she works with people of all ages children, teens, adults and seniors. She offers brief therapy at an affordable price and has a wide base of knowledge to draw from, enhancing her hypnotherapy skills with her counselling background. Louise believes that in today’s fast paced society, time and money are precious and that is why hypnotherapy is so useful because it is a quick and effective method of treatment.
